What is included in the price?
For Hz Basic, Hz Dual and Hz Flex the price covers the whole ceiling:
- acoustic panels, filling and acoustic plaster
- fitting the panels, filling and plastering
Ved Hz Plus the project’s carpenter fits the panels onto battens, just as with a traditional plasterboard ceiling. Experience puts the carpenter’s work at around 14–17 EUR/m² excl. VAT, but the price varies from contractor to contractor. Filling and plastering are carried out by an Hz Partner and are included in the price.
Not included in any of the prices: VAT, delivery, masking and covering, battens and special details or built-in fittings.
Example: what does a 50 m² acoustic ceiling cost?
- Hz Basic, Hz Dual or Hz Flex: around 7,500 EUR excl. VAT (9,375 EUR incl. 25% VAT)
- Hz Plus: around 5,500 EUR excl. VAT (6,875 EUR incl. 25% VAT) plus the carpenter’s work at around 700–850 EUR excl. VAT

Why is Hz Plus cheaper?
Hz Plus is a perforated plasterboard with acoustic fleece. It is fitted by the carpenter as part of the build, just like a traditional plasterboard ceiling, and an Hz Partner then fills and plasters it. That makes Hz Plus an obvious choice in new-build, where battens and a ceiling have to go up anyway.
Hz Basic, Hz Dual and Hz Flex are fitted and plastered by the Hz Partner. They are used when the ceiling goes onto an existing substrate, when the panels have to be screwed up, or when the ceiling is curved. You can read more about that in Which acoustic ceiling is best?
What affects the price?
- Substrate: it decides which system the ceiling calls for.
- Built-in fittings: spotlights, lighting tracks, curtain tracks and access panels.
- The shape of the ceiling: curved surfaces, sloping ceilings and many corners.
- Access and height: for instance whether scaffolding is needed.
- Masking, covering and delivery depend on the project.
