Hz DUAL – SCREW-FIXED ACOUSTIC SYSTEM
Hz Dual is an acoustic system screwed onto timber battens or directly onto solid substrates such as concrete and timber ceilings. The result is a homogeneous, white acoustic ceiling without visible joints or perforations, finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster in a smooth or textured finish. The panels are pre-drilled for screw fixing and come in two thicknesses, so the system can be matched to the ceiling height and acoustic requirements of each project.

Hz Dual 009 (29 mm) is ideal where build-up height must stay low. Hz Dual 011 (49 mm) provides the highest sound absorption and is recommended in rooms with very hard acoustics, such as restaurants, large halls and open-plan offices.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
The substrate, whether battens or a solid surface, must be level and built to carry the panels and the mechanical fixing.
The panels are screwed in place through the four pre-drilled holes with screws suited to the substrate. Washers are used to stop the screws sinking into the material.
The screw holes are sealed with the supplied glass granulate plugs, and all joints are filled with Hz Fill. Joints and edges are smoothed at the same time to achieve a seamless surface.
Hz Acoustic Plaster is applied across the whole ceiling in three coats. Once dry and sanded, the ceiling is completely smooth and white – with no visible joints, seams or perforations.
Spotlights, lighting tracks, ventilation and curtain tracks are built directly into the ceiling during installation. Hz Dual is designed to house them discreetly.
THE DECISIVE FINISH
Hz Acoustic Plaster is the finish that ties Hz Dual together. It is sprayed across the whole ceiling and is acoustically transparent; sound passes freely through to the acoustic panel behind. With Hz Acoustic Plaster 03 the surface is sanded at the end to a completely smooth finish.
This is what sets Hz Dual apart from conventional acoustic ceilings: the surface looks like an ordinary ceiling but performs like an acoustic ceiling. Hz Acoustic Plaster can be maintained, repaired and transformed – and it keeps the ceiling looking good for years.

Hz Dual is used where mechanical fixing is required instead of gluing – for example on battens, or where the substrate is not suited to gluing. If you want a glued solution on concrete or plasterboard instead, Hz Basic is the right choice.
Hz Dual 009 is 29 mm thick and is chosen where build-up height must stay low. Hz Dual 011 is 49 mm thick and provides higher sound absorption. 011 is recommended in rooms with very hard acoustics, such as restaurants, offices and large halls.
Installation time depends on the scope of the project, the shape of the room and any technical integrations. An experienced Hz Acoustic installer typically completes a standard project of 50-100 m² in 5-8 working days, including filling and plaster.
Yes, in most cases. An installer first assesses the ceiling and, if necessary, reinforces it before Hz Dual goes up, so the load-bearing capacity is assured.
Yes. One of the major advantages of Hz Acoustic Plaster is the option of local repair. Damage can be repaired locally and even transformed completely if a different color or texture is required. Read more in our general FAQ.
