ABOUT THE PROJECT

E. Nielsens mekaniske Stenhuggeri in Egå has opened a new showroom designed by Baks Arkitekter. The ceiling is built in Hz Plus and finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster 09 by our partner DK Akustik Vest.

A ceiling that lets the stone speak

The showroom is there to present the surfaces of natural stone to customers and architects, so the ceiling must not compete with the materials. At the same time, the many hard stone surfaces give a slightly long reverberation.

The ceiling is built up with Hz Plus 027+, a perforated plasterboard with acoustic fleece screwed to battens, and finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster 09. The plaster contains finely milled textile waste and hides the perforations under a homogeneous, tactile surface with no visible joints or seams.

Denmark’s oldest stonemasonry

E. Nielsens mekaniske Stenhuggeri was founded in 1797 and is run today by the fourth generation of the Grage family.

The architect on the same site

Baks Arkitekter has its own address on the same site, and we have supplied a similar acoustic solution for the practice’s own offices.
