Hz Dual - screw-fixed acoustic system for solid substrates

Hz Dual is a screw-fixed acoustic system developed for installation on a batten system or directly onto solid substrates. The system combines high sound absorption with a smooth, seamless ceiling surface, finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster, creating a uniform architectural expression without visible joints, seams, or perforations.

Hz Dual has the same panel construction and acoustic performance as Hz Basic. The key difference is that the glass granulate board is pre-drilled, allowing the panels to be screw-fixed instead of glued. This makes the system particularly suitable for projects where mechanical fixing is required.

Products in the Hz Dual system

Hz Dual 009

Best for: rooms with high acoustic requirements and mechanical fixing

  • Screw-fixed through pre-drilled holes
  • High sound absorption
  • Minimal build-up height (29mm)

Hz Dual 011

Best for: rooms with increased need for sound control

  • Increased thickness and sound absorption
  • Screw-fixed onto battens/solid substrate
  • Smooth, uniform ceiling without visible joints

Hz Dual 009-R

Best for: sustainable projects requiring mechanical fixing

  • Produced from recycled textile waste
  • Same sound absorption as Hz Dual 009
  • Part of the Hz Recycled series

Hz Dual 011-R

Best for: sustainable projects with very high acoustic requirements

  • Increased thickness and effective sound absorption
  • Produced from recycled materials
  • A conscious choice

Installation of Hz Dual acoustic panels

Hz Dual is installed by screw-fixing the acoustic panels through the pre-drilled holes in the glass granulate board. This provides a stable and secure installation on a batten system or directly onto solid substrates where adhesive installation is not desirable or possible. The pre-drilled holes are subsequently covered with plugs, ensuring a uniform surface ready for finishing.

The system is suitable for both new-build and renovation projects where mechanical fixing is required in combination with a seamless ceiling surface. After installation, the panels are finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster, which covers the surface and creates the uniform final expression.

Selected reference projects with Hz Dual acoustic panels

Hz Dual is used in projects where mechanical fixing is required, for example in larger developments, public institutions, and commercial projects—without compromising aesthetics or acoustic comfort.

What characterises Hz Dual acoustic ceilings?

Mechanical fixing via pre-drilled panels

Hz Dual acoustic panels feature pre-drilled holes in the glass granulate board, allowing the panels to be screw-fixed. This provides a robust and stable solution, particularly in projects where adhesive installation is not an option.

If you require a glued solution instead, please refer to Hz Basic – glued acoustic system for solid substrates.

Same acoustic performance as Hz Basic

The panel construction of Hz Dual corresponds to Hz Basic, ensuring identical acoustic performance. You achieve effective reduction of reverberation and noise levels – whether the panels are glued or screw-fixed.

Seamless finish with Hz Acoustic Plaster

After installation, Hz Dual is finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster, creating a smooth and uniform surface.

Both solutions are free from visible joints and can be tinted in most official NCS and RAL colors.

Materials and surface

Hz Dual acoustic panels consist of either mineral wool or recycled textile fibres combined with a pre-treated glass granulate board. The surface is robust and allows for the integration of spotlights, lighting tracks, ventilation, and other technical installations directly into the ceiling.

The recycled variants are part of Hz Recycled: acoustic systems based on recycled materials.

Where can Hz Dual be used?

Hz Dual is suitable for:

  • Offices and commercial buildings
  • Meeting rooms and educational environments
  • Restaurants and hotels
  • Public institutions
  • Renovation projects requiring mechanical fixing

The system can be used in both dry and humid environments when correctly constructed.

Acoustics, comfort, and indoor climate

Good acoustics improve both working conditions and overall wellbeing. Hz Dual effectively reduces reverberation and noise levels, creating a calm and comfortable sound environment.

At the same time, the architectural expression of the ceiling is preserved with a smooth, seamless finish that can be repaired, maintained, sanded, and transformed over time.
