Here we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions we receive to give you the best possible insight into our acoustic solutions. We know that good acoustics can transform a space – whether it’s in your home or in a project you’re working on. Our mission is to make the process of improving your acoustics as simple and informative as possible, so you can make the right choice for your project.

Questions about our acoustic solutions

Our acoustic ceilings are designed to be incredibly easy to maintain and require very little care. To remove dust, we recommend using a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment. It’s important to avoid water and cleaning agents, as they can damage the surface.

For more stubborn stains, you can lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper. Watch the video beside this section, where our skilled partner and installer AkustikNord demonstrates how they remove stains for Lise Henriksen.

By following these simple guidelines, you can ensure your ceiling maintains its beautiful appearance and optimal performance for many years.

We recommend that all our acoustic solutions – both acoustic ceilings and acoustic plaster – are installed by our professional and certified partners. Our systems require specialist knowledge to ensure both the aesthetic appearance and optimal acoustic performance. Without the right expertise, there’s a risk that the result won’t meet your expectations. We are happy to help you find the right installer in your area who can guarantee a beautiful and functional result.

For certain projects, we offer special agreements where you can attend training in how to install our ceilings. After completing the course, you’ll be able to handle installation yourself. These arrangements are made individually depending on the project’s scope and requirements.

The installation time for an acoustic ceiling depends on the size and complexity of the project. Typically, an installation takes around 8-11 working days for approximately 100 m². Our installers can provide a more accurate estimate once they have assessed your home or building.

Our solutions are designed to be both functional and aesthetic. The acoustic plaster creates a smooth, uniform surface without visible joints or seams. The ceiling has a clean and minimalist look, similar to a traditional gypsum ceiling but with the added benefit of significantly improved acoustics. With our solutions, you don’t have to compromise on appearance to achieve a calmer, more pleasant indoor environment.

Our standard white acoustic plaster has the color code NCS-S 0300-N and appears as a warm white tone.

No, our acoustic ceilings cannot be painted. Paint will close the open surface of the plaster, negatively affecting the acoustic performance, and may cause the surface to peel.

However, if you wish to refresh or change the color of your ceiling, this is entirely possible – without compromising its acoustic properties. We offer solutions specifically designed for this purpose.

Yes, our acoustic ceilings can be tinted in most official RAL and NCS colors from current color charts, allowing you to match the ceiling to your desired expression. We exclusively tint according to official RAL and NCS color codes and do not accept tinting based on other suppliers’ color charts, special collections, or unofficial color references.

Minor shade variations may occur due to the natural composition of the material as well as factors such as substrate absorbency, application method, layer thickness, and lighting/viewing angle. Acoustic plaster cannot be directly compared to paint in terms of color reproduction and sample build-up.

We always recommend ordering a colour sample or carrying out a reference area for approval prior to final application. Please feel free to contact us for further information or guidance.

Choosing an acoustic solution and integration

The right solution depends on the room’s function, size, and architecture. There are many factors to consider, but you don’t have to do it alone. We offer professional advice and can connect you with one of our experienced installers. They can assess your specific needs and provide tailored recommendations for what will work best for you.

An acoustic ceiling from Hz Acoustic consists of acoustic panels that are coated with acoustic plaster.
The panels are the primary sound-absorbing element, installed directly onto the ceiling surface. The acoustic plaster is a breathable coating applied on top of the panels. Its purpose is to allow sound to pass through so it can be absorbed by the panel beneath. The main function of the plaster is to create a uniform, smooth surface without visible joints, seams, or perforations.

Yes, everything is possible with our acoustic ceilings, including spotlights, curtain rails, ventilation, and other built-in components. It’s simply important that these elements are prepared for before installation. When the work is carried out by an experienced installer, both the aesthetic appearance and optimal acoustic effect are ensured.

Our systems are made of porous materials specifically designed to absorb sound waves. This significantly reduces reverberation, echo, and general noise. The result is a noticeable improvement in the room’s acoustics, whether it’s for speech, music, or overall sound comfort, creating a calm and pleasant environment to be in.

Yes, it’s possible, but it requires proper execution. A curtain track with a visible trim should be used to cover the cut in the ceiling – most curtain suppliers offer such solutions. The track must be fixed to the load-bearing ceiling behind the acoustic panel, and any openings should be sealed with a painter’s caulk for a neat and durable finish.
