Job satisfaction with a new acoustic ceiling in Storm Carpet’s new showroom

Arbejdsglæde med nyt akustikloft i Storm Carpets nye showroom – An acoustic ceiling made of upcycled foam creates better acoustics and greater job satisfaction At Storm Carpet in Nørrebro, aesthetics, textiles, and tactile surfaces are part of everyday life. In this stylish showroom, architects and designers meet to be inspired by a wide selection of carpets, curtains, upholstery fabrics, and wall coverings. But when several creative minds gather in the same space, the acoustics must keep up – and that became a challenge. Storm Carpet’s showroom is located in a converted drive-through with high ceilings and many hard cement surfaces. This creates a raw, industrial atmosphere – but unfortunately also poor acoustics. Sound bounced between the walls and the floor, and when two conversations took place at once, one would quickly drown in echo. Flexible acoustic panels with environmental awareness The solution was Hz Flex 019-R – a flexible acoustic panel made from 100% upcycled PU foam. The panels are only 20 mm thick, making them ideal for an acoustic ceiling with minimal loss of ceiling height. That was crucial in the tall space, where the architecture and sense of openness had to be preserved. The acoustic panels were finished with Hz Acoustic Plaster 03, creating a completely smooth and uniform surface without visible joints or seams. The result? A discreet, almost invisible acoustic ceiling that doesn’t steal attention from the textile collections but is clearly felt in everyday use. From disturbing echo to a functional showroom CEO Anders Storm explains: “Our showroom in Nørrebro is located in a converted drive-through, with high ceilings and many hard cement surfaces. It looks great but unfortunately creates poor acoustics – especially when several people are gathered. We were recommended Hz Acoustic and received friendly and professional guidance. The result has exceeded all our expectations.” He highlights how the ceiling height has barely been reduced and how the previously disturbing echo has been transformed into calm and improved job satisfaction. The change has also opened up new possibilities for using the showroom – for larger gatherings and meetings alike. “If you’re facing similar challenges – or simply want to improve your work environment – I highly recommend inviting Hz Acoustic into your project considerations.” A ceiling with more than one purpose At Hz Acoustic, we’re proud to contribute to both better sound and sustainable solutions. Hz Flex 019-R is a great example of how flexible acoustic panels can make a difference – not only acoustically but also environmentally. It’s recycling in its finest form: invisible, efficient, and with a clear upgrade to the room’s functionality. Need a new acoustic ceiling for your project?
